Apple Crumble Trifles

For my birthday last November, I decided to have a small tea party at home one of the days during the week (it was a public holiday).

The theme of the day was floral and the girlfriends were game enough to turn up in floral dresses for the occasion. I woke up really early that day and I spent at least four hours in the kitchen preparing the stuff. To say that I was tired at the end of it all was an understatement indeed...

Wang Dae Bak 왕대박

For one of my fave girlfriend's birthday, I gave her a birthday treat. Well, this was a few months ago and I'm only posting about it now. *sheepish grin*

Earl Grey Custard Berries Tart

It's the prettiest thing I've made so far. Then again, with the abundance of berries in it, it is no wonder why I termed it as so isn't it?

Bangkok Jam

I realise that I've not been eating out much lately, and when I do, it's to revist past faves most of the times (I mean - there are limited dim sum/brunch places that serve decent fare).

Had dinner a couple months back at this Thai place in town for the first time. And thought that the food was pretty good to write about.

Dark Chocolate Raspberry Coconut Brown Butter Muffins

I've previously made these muffins before, but decided to revisit this recipe again to see if they were as yummy as I remembered.

Nosh

I like quiet brunch places. One, there is the lack of crowds (that's a self explanatory reason). Two, you can actually carry a (regular decibel) conversation without constantly leaning over to be heard of the din (or just to avoid listening unintentionally to the next table's conversation). Three, it is easier to find parking.

And Nosh happens to fit all of the above mentioned.

The Pigeonhole

Here's a pretty nice place, great for drinks and catch up with friends.

Earl Grey Pound Cake

It is inevitable that if you have an older sibling, some of the characteristics from the older sibling will rub off on you. Such is the case with earl grey. The Sis enjoys earl grey tea, and while I don't take it as it is, I must say I do love a cuppa earl grey milk tea.

My stash of my favourite brand of earl grey tea bags had ran out, and I was lazy to pop into town just to grab a box of it, thus I tried out a new brand of boxed earl grey tea leaves. I brewed a cuppa earl grey milk tea to test it out, and it was not as fragrant as my regular cup. Thus I decided to use it in baking rather than drinking. The first thing I chose to make was this earl grey pound cake.

Henry Congressional

I managed to drop by the pop up store of Smitten Coffee and Tea Bar before operations shut down on 31 Dec 2012.

Happy (or not) 2013

Happy new year folks. It's the second day into the New Year, and I'm already feeling restless.

Undoubtly, with each passing year, there is bound to be a review of the past year. While not exactly bad, 2012 has not exactly been spectacular either.
